Updating MetaTrader and adding a broker server

Updating MetaTrader
MetaTrader updates itself automatically when your broker releases a new build — just leave the terminal open and it will apply the update on the next restart. To force it, close and reopen the terminal.
Adding your broker's server
- In MetaTrader open File → Open an Account (or Login to Trade Account).
- Type your broker's name to search, or paste the server address they gave you.
- Select the correct trade server and enter your login and password.
- If your server isn't listed, install the MetaTrader build from your broker's own website so it ships with their servers.
Using the installer from your specific broker guarantees the correct trade servers appear in the list.
